Press Release: 2008-12-05, MONTREAL, QUEBEC WORDCRAFTING 2008 HALL OF FAME WINNERS ANNOUNCED
The success of another year at WordCrafting was celebrated by the announcement of the winners of the 2008 Hall of Fame. The awards were presented by WordCrafting owner Johanne “Jo” O’Malley on the morning of December 5, 2008.
The prize for Best Referrer was awarded to Samuel J. Singer. Sam is a law student, street worker and facilitator and works with various community-based organizations in Montreal. WordCrafting is honoured to now serve such exceptional organizations such as ASTT(e)Q, COCo, the 2110 Center for Gender Advocacy and CACTUS-Montreal pursuant to Sam’s referrals. Sam’s referrals accounted for 20% of WordCrafting’s gross revenues in 2008.
The prize for Best Mentor was awarded to Allen Annett. Allen has over twenty-five years of experience as a management consultant and coach and is currently stationed in Singapore on a multi-year consultancy project. WordCrafting’s owner considers herself privileged to have benefited from Allen’s humour and encouragement over the years, and was happy to be able to honour his generosity with an award. Allen’s expertise includes managing change, organizational effectiveness and executive coaching. Allen’s mastery of networking continues to inspire.
Two Collaborative Excellence prizes were awarded this year. The recipients were Breckenhill, a five-man Ottawa-based management consultancy firm, and Small Dog Communications, a one-woman communication firm based in Montreal specializing in pharmaceutical company publications. “It a pleasure to work with clients like Breckenhill and Small Dog,” explains Jo, WordCrafting owner. “There’s a tangible sense of collaboration which always contributes to the success of the project. It ensures that any challenges along the way are turned into opportunities instead of obstacles.”
She adds, “But the icing on the cake is finding balance between humour and professionalism. What would be dreadful evening conference calls were delightful and witty thanks to Bill and Ned from Breckenhill, while final-hour copy edits over holiday weekends with Linda from Small Dog revealed that good professional relationships are productive, but also a great source of support.”
WordCrafting looks forward to another successful year and wishes success to all its clients, suppliers, referrers, mentors, collaborators and stakeholders in 2009.
