Ms. Cooper is a dynamic leader, strategic thinker and is driven to make ideas come to fruition. She is passionate about increasing the Emotional Intelligence (EQ) in individuals and by doing so, increasing the awareness of oneself, and by extension, the workplace, through a systematic process of change. With a background in both the practice of law and politics and more than 20 years of experience working in the field of access to information, privacy and health information, Gary Dickson is interested in assisting organizations (both public sector and private sector) to achieve compliance with both legislation and best practices.
As former Saskatchewan Information and Privacy Commissioner Gary oversaw compliance by more than 3,000 organizations in the province of Saskatchewan with The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, The Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and The Health Information Protection Act. These organizations included provincial government ministries, Crown corporations, boards, commissions and agencies, school districts, regional health authorities, municipalities, universities, colleges and all health information trustees including pharmacies, physician offices, dentists, psychologists, laboratories, diagnostic imaging clinics. During his term the OIPC issued 95 formal Review/Investigation reports, closed more than 1300 case files, produced 100 issues of the monthly e-newsletter (Saskatchewan FOIP FOLIO), produced more than 70 web-based resources and delivered more than 1,000 education presentations in 36 different Saskatchewan communities.
