Our Financial Management team are experts in all matters pertaining to accounting, financial reporting and financial control. They can provide you with:
advice on the financial implication of changes in programs and operations;
advisory services to ensure understanding, acceptance, uniform implementation and effectiveness of new or revised financial and operational management policies;
formulatiion proposals for new government regulations, policies and guidelines pertaining to financial and operational management practices and systems;
develop revisions to existing government regulations, policies and guidelines pertaining to financial and operational management practices and systems;
coordinate the implementation, maintenance, evaluation and operation of departmental accounting, financial reporting and financial control policies, systems and procedures;
coordinate departmental responses to the reports of the Auditor General and to other reports;
monitor Grants and Contributions agreements to ensure that all terms and conditions are met and make recommendations for payment;
coordinate the design, development and control of a comprehensive (computer-oriented) system of account classification;
coordinate the reconciliation of balances in reciprocal accounts in Central and departmental systems; and
direct the preparation of financial management and accounting reports.
